Face Contour – Jowls

As we age, the skin tissue changes, causing the volume of the face to shift downward. The nasolabial fold, the corners of the mouth and the lower jaw line (the jowls) become deeper. The result is a sad, heavy and tired appearance to the lower half of the face. With the help of natural hyaluronic acid and fillers, it is possible to naturally reshape the facial contours without surgery, restoring the lost volume.

General information

As a result of the natural aging process, the lower facial contours, the nasolabial fold, the corners of the mouth and the lower jaw line also change. Without surgery, it is possible to restore facial volume using a filler, also known as natural hyaluronic acid. The fillers used at Bellefontaine Clinic are based exclusively on natural hyaluronic acid and are fully absorbable. For your comfort, very fine cannulas with rounded ends can be used instead of needles.

Treatment procedure
At the Bellefontaine Clinic

Before the procedure

Please inform us before any hyaluronic acid injection if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have used other fillers and are taking medication such as anticoagulants. We also ask that you come without make-up.

During the procedure

For your peace of mind, you will be given an anaesthetic cream for the area to be injected. Filler products are often combined with lidocaine (anaesthetic) to achieve a gentle injection. Filler injections are performed in a room suitable for this treatment, where cleanliness and aseptic conditions must be maintained. The injection points are drawn on the cleaned and disinfected skin. Only approved and recognized products are used at the Bellefontaine Clinic. The injections are performed with very fine and short needles or with small cannulas. Small pink and swollen areas appear at the injection sites, which disappear after 15 minutes.

After the procedure

The effect is immediately visible as soon as the skin irritation caused by the injections has disappeared. Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated areas after treatment. You can resume your activities immediately after the injection. You should avoid sports, sauna and steam bath for the first 24 hours after treatment. The treatment usually lasts 12 to 24 months, depending on the area and the product used.

Risks and side effects

The treatment is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include small temporary bruises and temporary redness or swelling at the injection site. Asymmetry is rare. Video: The answers to your on your main concerns
